Are you eligible to adopt overseas ?
The NSW Department of Community Services is the only agency in NSW which can arrange an overseas adoption. Applicants are required to meet both the NSW adoption criteria as well as the country adoption criteria.

Changes to countries' eligibility criteria can occur at anytime due to a variety of factors eg. high number of applications, government policies in overseas countries.

We also recommend that you make contact, as soon as possible and preferably at the beginning of the adoption process, with the relevant Country Information Officer/s - they can assist with any inquiries regarding current waiting times, eligibility criteria, medical or other issues and updates on program changes, if relevant.
