Our Overseas Aid projects
ASIAC's Overseas Aid Program aims to ' advance and
encourage the relief and welfare of children, with
or without families, in any developing country'.
ASIAC
seeks to assist communities with self-sustaining projects
with a strong emphasis on education, skills training,
health care, orphan care and community infrastructure
programs. Active involvement of the local communities
in projects is encouraged by providing labour, materials,
advice and general support in order to strengthen co-operation,
collaboration and capacity building.
Two past projects supported by ASIAC are:
Daycare Centre, Cebu,
Philippines - Funding provided towards the development
of this new kinder/pre-school centre which will accommodate
up to 50 children a day. The centre will also have
a feeding program to help women learn to plan meals
and ensure their children get a good meal once a
day, five days a week. Overall, the project and the
Centre will help over 250 families to complete their
educaiton, obtain employment, learn income-generating
skills eg. baking, handcrafts etc.
Disabled Infants & Palliative Care
Unit, Heng Yang City, China - This
New Admissions & Palliative Care Unit will provide
medical care, resources and staffing to babies and
infants abandoned because of disability and ill health.
Funding was provided towards beds, bedding, hot water
machines, sterilisers, nappies, formula, storage
and medical equipment.
